Moodbidri, Jan 4: All arrangements were made on Wednesday January 4 to stage the national cultural festival ‘Alva’s Virasat’, at Shobhavana, by Alva’s Education Foundation.
Seating arrangements for nearly 10,000 people have been made at the main venue and the gallery can seat another 2,000.
The wedding of Vivek Alva, son of Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman, Alva’s Education Foundation, with Varsha, was held at the same venue on Sunday January 1.
Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, will inaugurate Alva’s Virasat on Thursday January 5.
Traditional lamps have been hung along the main entrance to the venue to welcome visitors to the event.
The event, which was first held in Mahaveer College, 20 years ago has become an international festival. It has become a platform for national and international artistes to exhibit their talent. Dr Mohan Alva aims to make this event a global festival.
It has been single-handedly organized by Alva’s Education Foundation, without any contributions from the state administration, with the generous contributions of philanthropists.
