Udupi: Gopal Kharvi to Go For Guinness World Record

Udupi, Jan 4: Gopal Kharvi from Kody Kanyana will be trying to enter Guinness Book of World Records in swimming, on January 8. His name has already been recorded in Limca Book of World Records, for his fiat of binding his hands and legs behind his back with metal chains and swimming from St Mary’s Island to Malpe beach in the past.

He will begin his adventure at 6.30 am on January 8 from St Mary’s Island. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday January 3, Kharvi said that S Siddaraju from Bangalore, who is a Guinness record holder, will flag off his fiat.

This time, Kharvi has ensured that recording of his swimming will be conducted as per the specifications of Guinness World Records. District deputy commissioner, Dr M T Reju, district superintendent of police, Ravikumar, and deputy superintendent of police, Jayant Shetty, will be the witnesses of his adventure. MLA, K Raghupati Bhat, former MLA, K Jayprakash hedge, entrepreneurs, G Shankar, Pramod Madhwaraj, V K Mohan, Anand C Kunder, Kharvi Mahajana Sangha president, K B Kharvi, president of Dakshina Kannada Fish Marketing Federation, Yashpal Suvarna, and president of Kody Kanyaya gram panchayat, Gulabi, will be present, he informed.

Kota gram panchayat vice president, Annappa C Kunder, Rajesh N karkera, and Sujata G Kharvi were present at the press conference.
