Shimoga: Dreadful Act - 24 Foetuses Dumped in Public Area

Shimoga, Dec 30: In a shocking and awful incident which can be considered extreme level of inhuman act, 24 aborted foetuses were found abandoned in the road side here on Friday December 30 morning.

The people were astonished to observe the 24 dead foetuses lying on the roadside of Arekere and Theerthahalli road and blamed the apathy of hospitals.

10 foetuses were found near Arekere School and 14 were found near garbage located by the side of Theerthahalli road here. They were packed in a box and dumped in the garbage.

Though there have been stringent law to vanish foeticide, mounting number of such incidents have been reported and greed for money by the staffs at the hospitals are considered the cause for such cases, allege local people.

Police officials, district health officers and the DC visited the spot. Foetuses have been sent to forensic department. A case has been registered in the police station and investigations are on.

Speaking to media persons, Shimoga SP Ramangupta said in all, 24 foetuses were found and were of 6 to 8 months old.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the foetuses had some physical abnormalities. They have been sent to forensic department and thorough investigation will be carried out. Stern action will be initiated, he assured.

    24 foetuses gives an indication that it is done to avoid female child.
    Except Kerala all other states have more males than females. The situation in alarming in states like Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan etc.
    Investigation shall be conducted and culprits should be booked if it is established that it is result of sex determination test.

    Where r da 24 people who asked to do the act. Hospital is only an instrument in this case. But dumping in a public place is not acceptable.

    Govt has to come forward and should start the investigation. DNA tests should performed and whoever support this acts must get punished. You should take strict actions against hospital. If hospital cannot do show their good attitude on these things how can it act responsibly on other patients. Doctors are becoming killers. They are no more saviors. What a civilized society!!!!

    SUCH A DISUGUSTING AND INHUMANE ACT. I HOPE AND PRAY THAT EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THIS ARE SUBJECTED TO THE SO-CALLED 'STERN ACTION' THAT HAS BEEN ASSURED.
    AND I ALSO PRAY THAT SUCH ACTS STOP TAKING PLACE.
    THERE ARE SOME PARENTS WHO YEARN TO HAVE CHILDREN AND THEN THERE ARE SOME, WHO CAN'T ACCEPT CHILDREN IN WHAT FORM THEY ARE GIVEN TO THEM.

    These 24 fetuses found at one place! Like this how many are aborted and thrown away secretly throughout the world nobody known’s. Yes we read in India lot of cases where female fetuses aborted. What a strong heart these parents may have to give permission to murder their child.

    The parents have killed/aborted the children, slowly their conscience will kill them, they'll never b happy! Wise people like Mother Theresa said, if u don't want d child give it to me, i'll look after them, but don't murder them. May God enlighten all not to do such crimes!

    I totally agree with you Praveen, I am really hurt by this act...how can the hospital do this? how the doctors who do this for money are living peacefully, they should be suspended from jobs. How can a mother or father agree to abort at the 6month old foetuses. I dont agree with the physical abnormalities....if it was so they would have definitely send the foetuses for further investigation..and abnormalietes can be detected well before 6 months....and whoever has dumped like that is not a human... foetus was killed...and it had a life when it was in mothers womb...if there was a abnormality and that is the reason it was aborted....ok..sholud have burried respectfully...i definitely do not agree all 24 foetuses having abnormality and that too in a same place....rubbish.....the person who has done this should never be allowed to praCTICE.....aND THOSE WHO THINK GIRLS ARE NOT GOOD....you are not right in your head..because a girl can also do and take responsibily like a man, and even more responisible...hOW MANY PARENTS....IN the WORLD...Depend on their daughters at the end...and want daughters near by??? I am not against and men...i am making a point that women also can do a greatr job..so please respect the child whichever gender they are...we should be able to accept the child which god gives us...god knows what is best for us...

    Nothing indicates that the fetus are female. Anyway, infanticide is wrong irrespective of gender but lower class of people think abortion as one method of family planning. There must be serious awareness because even aborting a child causes immense strain on a woman's health such as anemia, if something goes wrong it may even result with death.

    It is reported that the fetuses are 6 to 7 months old because such stage aborting is dangerous to health. It got to be 'weeks', not 'months'.
