Kundapur: Man Arrested for Trafficking Deer Pelt

Kundapur, Dec 30: Mangalore special police forest mobile squad arrested a man for trafficking deer pelt at Airabail bus stand in Siddapur village, near here, on Wednesday December 28.

The accused has been identified as 20-year-old Starwin Wilson, and the police seized three deer pelt from him.

The special police forest mobile squad sub-inspector Manjunat K R led the policemen in laying the trap for Starwin, who was waiting at Airabail bus stand, Siddapur village, with the pelts to find a customer.

He was handed over to the custody of Shankaranarayan police, who registered a case under the Wildlife Act against the accused while sub-inspector Jayant took up further investigations.

The operation was carried out under the instructions of Bangalore CID forest unit IGP U Nissar Ahmed and Madikeri CID forest unit SP A R Anvekar, by Mangalore special police forest mobile squad sub-inspector Manjunat K R, head constables Sitaram, Umesh Hosolike, Ramachandra, Narayan, Honnappa Gowda, Basheer, Sadashiv, and Harischandra Gowda.
