Mulky: Masked Miscreants Barge into Pentecostal Church, Pelt Stones

Mulky, Dec 28: A group of about 15-20 miscreants barged into the Hebron Assembly, Pentecostal Church of God at Haleangady here on the night of Wednesday December 28 and pelted stones and threw sticks.

The incident is said to have occured at around 8.30 pm.

Pastor I D Prasanna, his wife Sarah, their daughter Prerna and son Abhishek along with five others were praying in the hall. The group entered the hall all of a sudden and started pelting stones and throwing sticks, sources said.

It is said that all of them had covered their faces with cloth. They fled the scene immediately before anyone could catch them.

Unconfirmed reports stated that pastor Prasanna and another person were injured, while another source said that no one was hurt. However, window panes were smashed and other items like refrigerator and kitchen utensils were damaged. The groups also damaged vehicles parked at the premises.

Though CCTVs have been installed at the spot, they were not of much assistance as the faces of the miscreants were covered.

Seemanth Kumar, who arrived at the spot made a spot inspection and also watched the images recorded in the CCTV.

ACP Puttamadaiah and inspector Basheer Ahmed rushed to spot. Investigations are on.

A complaint has been registered at the Mulki police station.
