Moodbidri: Western Institute of Technology Hosts All-faith Christmas Celebration

Moodbidri, Dec 26: Western Institute of Technology, Adla Network, Moodbidri, which has been jointly organizing all-religion Christmas celebration since a decade, organized the event this year too on Sunday December 25 from 6 pm to 12 pm with people of all faiths participating.
Moodbidri MLA K Abhayachandra Jain presided. Dr J S Sadanand, Bishop, Karnataka Southern Diocese, cut the cake and delivered his Christmas message.
Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes, inaugurating the programme, said that celebrating the festival with people outside, than merely inside the home, adds more joy. MP Nalin Kumar said that the Catholic community is the ideal one for their service mentality in the field of education, health, and social service.
Bhoja Gowda, Anand K, associate vice-president of Manipal Media, Fr Basil Vas, Jayashree Amarnath Shetty, Krishnaraj Hegde, K S Jagadeesh Adhikari, Abdul Puttige, Felix D’Souza, Anil Lobo, Magdoleen Mendis, Florence Mendis, and Stephen Mendis were present. Dance troupes ‘Boyzone’, ‘Surathkal Kids’, ‘Sizzling Guys’, ‘Twitters’, ‘Top Entertisers’, and music group of Alangar Church were felicitated on the occasion.
Florence Mendis, in memory of late Basil Mendis and late A R Karkada, handed over Rs 1.25 lac (half of the expenditure of mass marriage to be held at Alangar Church on Wednesday December 28) to Alangar Church priest Fr Basil Vas.
Likewise, Magdoleen Mendis handed over Rs 2.50 lac to Lions Club president Anil Lobo to cover the half of the expenditure spent on organizing health camps across Moodbidri.
People participated in good numbers and celebrated with grandeur and gaiety.
