Udupi, Dec 26: Newly renovated chapel, canteen, and maternity wards of CSI Lombard Memorial Hospital here, were blessed and inaugurated recently.
Dr J S Sadananda, Bishop of CSI Karnataka Southern Diocese, Mangalore, inaugurated the chapel and canteen, while entrepreneur, Pramod Madhwaraj, inaugurated the chapel room. Jayakar Shetty Indrali inaugurated the newly built maternity ward of the hospital.
In his inaugural address, Bishop Sadananda wished that the new chapel will help and guide the patients who visit the hospital to get themselves healed. He noted that this hospital has come to be known as one of the best in providing maternity services.
“During this Christmas season, we should do everything within our reach to help the needy and through this act, make our lives blessed. We should never fail to acknowledge the presence of God even when we lead a peaceful and comfortable life. We should not restrict our prayers to Him to trying times alone,” he advised.
Pramod Madhwaraj expressed happiness at being a part of the chapel inauguration. He revealed that he had taken birth at this hospital. He wished that this hospital will continue to serve the needy as before in future years.
At the function, lighting of the lamp for the first Year GNM students, and practical ward aid students, was held. Principal, Marina Rodrigues, and Sr Borka Premalatha, conducted the ceremony.
Christmas day celebrations were also organized on this occasion.
Principal of GNM, Annette Marina Rodrigues, Sr Borka Premalatha, and pastor, Osmond Shree, were present at the dais.
Rathish Johnson, deputy director, delivered an introductory talk on the progress of the hospital. John Sudhakar welcomed the gathering, Rohi Ranthankar proposed vote of thanks. Sonia Criscina compered the programme.
