Mangaluru, Dec 20: Anand G Pai, president of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) and executive director of Bharath Beedi Works Pvt Ltd, inaugurated the new branch of the Bank of Maharashtra at Lotus Galaxy, Pumpwell, on Friday, December 20.
Chartered accountant Shantharam Shetty inaugurated the ATM facility, while the strong-room of the branch was opened by former CMD of the Bank of Maharashtra, Allan Pereira.
In his address, Anand G Pai commended the bank's management for expanding its presence in Mangaluru. He noted that the Bank of Maharashtra initially established its foothold in Karnataka with 91 branches and now operates 2,600 branches across the country. He praised the bank’s contributions to the agricultural and MSME sectors, urging continued support for MSMEs. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of educating customers on measures to prevent banking fraud.
Zonal manager of the Hubli zone, Sucheth D Souza, highlighted that this new branch is the sixth in the district, the third in Mangaluru, and the 45th under the Hubli zone.
Sucheth D Souza extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while branch manager Kiran H delivered the vote of thanks. Stany D’Souza served as the event’s compere.
