Mangalore: Lancy Moras Makes Comeback with Delightful Musical Nite

Mangalore, Dec 22: After a long sabbatical of 22 years, singer-composer Lancy Moras delivered a rocking performance at 'Lancy Moras Live in Concert' presented by Moushmi Creations at St Agnes Special School Grounds here on Wednesday December 21.
The evening was filled with a plethora of dances, songs, lots of music and comedy too. Noted singers like Anitha Samson, Rony Crasta, Ravindra Prabhu, VV Santhosh, Robin Sequeira, Joshel Dsouza, and others.
During the stage programme, Lancy latest album 'Milan Mogachen' was released by mayor Praveen Anchan. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the state government has set aside a sum of Rs 50 crore for the welfare of minorities, and those in need could approach Franklin Monteiro, vice-president of state minority committee. He also congratulated Lancy and conveyed Christmas wishes to everyone present.
Franklin Monteiro, while expressing his warm wishes to Lancy, urged artistes to come together and work towards fostering the integrity of the nation. He also called for innovation and change in music, adding that programmes such as these provide a platform for talent to flourish. He too conveyed his Christmas wishes to all.
Daijiworld.com editor-in-chief Walter Nandalike said that Lancy was performing again in a live concert after 22 years, and added, "Lancy, please don't make us wait for another 22 years, but stage 22 shows in one year. We will pray for you and support you." He also mentioned that Lancy Moras has contributed much to Konkani music and language through his works.
He also applauded the support given to Lancy Moras by Rony Crasta and Uday Rodrigues in helping make a comeback and stage this show successfully.
Carmelite priest Fr Melwyn D'Cunha said that not many people use their god-given gift, but Lancy has done so by conducting such a big show. He too congratulated Lancy.
Ace compere Leslie Rego and artiste Dolla too were called to the stage and presented with bouquets.
The event was interspersed with delightful comedy by Jerry-Duje (Jerry Rasquinha and Joseph) duo, which had the audience in rapt attention all evening, together with splendid dance performances by Naach Sobhann troupe.
Lancy's mother Cecilia Moras, wife Hilda and daughter Leonida Moushmi too were present on the dais.
Jude Noronha compered the event. Coordinator Rony Crasta welcomed and conducted the stage programme.
