Karkala: Illegal Fire Arms Manufacture - Four in Police Custody

Karkala, Dec 20: On Sunday December 18 night, a team of Udupi district crime intelligence bureau raided a unit in Belman in the taluk, which was involved with manufacture of illegal country guns. The team took into custody four persons. They have been identified as manufacturer of guns, Vishwanath Achary from Belman Kodimar, and buyers, Francis from Santoorkopa, Dolphin from Ajekar, and Dennis from Paladka.

Six country –made guns, and a revolver were recovered from their possession. Out of them, three guns and a revolver were found from Achary’s house. The police team was led by inspector, Ganesh Hegde. They were handed over to rural police station in the town.

The accused were produced in the court on Monday, upon which they were handed over to police custody as requested by the policemen for facilitating further investigation.

    Shocking to read this news...If authorities dont take timely action against manufacturers and their buyers, the state will turn into a hub of lawlessness... terrorism....naxalism and so on.

    We dont want coastal karnataka turning into another Terai (Indo Nepal Border) region or Durra Adam Keheel in Pakistan.
