Mangalore, Dec 19: A young singer, composer, writer from Bendur who showed great potential to become a singer, presented his first musical nite back in 1989 (Oct 22) at Don Bosco Hall, organised by Bajjodi Youngsters. But thereafter he landed in Saudi Arabia in search of his future and settled down there.
Lancy Moras did not get many opportunities to present his talent during the last two decades, but that did not stop him from penning his lyrics and composing music. He composed over 50 songs during this period but could not make it public due to absence of right platform.
In 2009, Lancy released his first devotional album 'Tujah Shethant' which was heartily accepted by the people and sold over 4000 copies in two years.
Encouragement from his friend Uday Rodrigues in Saudi Arabia prompted him to go in for a big venture. Thanks to social networking sites, his work has reached the right audience and has been appreciated by music lovers from around the world. And now, Lancy is all set to release his latest musical album 'Mogachem Milan' during his second musical nite to be held on December 21 at the St Agnes Special School open grounds.
Lancy Henry Moras is from Bendur parish, Mangalore. He was active in Church choir in his childhood. Says Lancy, "Claude D'Souza from Bendur recognised my talent and supported me. I started singing for Katrina Henry Nite, and after a couple of years I had my own band in Mangalore which was called 'Front Runners'. Music is close to my heart."
"With great support from my wife Hilda Moras, Uday Rodrigues, Rony Crasta and Janet D'Souza I took up the challenge of organizing the musical nite, and many have came forward to sponsor my show and album through social networking sites," he says.
Lancy Moras Live in Concert will be a grand show with more than 15 songs, (12 songs from the album 'Milan Mogachen' and the rest will be from Lancy's book of songs) and colourful dance performances by 'Naach Sobhann', comedy act by Jerry and Duje (Jerry Rasquinha and Joseph), Santa Claus, exciting prizes for fans of Milan Mogachen and refreshments.
Anitha , Rony Crasta, Ravindra Prabu, V V Santos, Joshal D'Souza, Robin Sequeira and others will also perform along with Lancy.
Entry for the show will be free.
