DG-IGP Shankar Bidari Visits Udupi, Rewards Deserving Policemen

Udupi, Dec 16: DG-IGP of state police Shankar Bidari, on his first visit to the district after assuming charge, held a meeting with top police officers at SP’s chamber here on Friday December 16. Earlier, he held a meeting with Anti Naxal Force (ANF) personnel in Karkala, near here.
Speaking to media persons, Bidari said that he would try to curb the underworld activities in coastal districts during his term. "Necessary security measures will be taken to curb Naxal menace in the hilly regions of the district," he added.
Bidari also said that he would visit districts across Karnataka every month to oversee the law and order situation. He lauded the district police force for the breakthrough in Sulaiman murder case in Karkala.
Bidari distributed cash awards to policemen for solving major robberies and other criminal cases. Besides, a cash award of Rs 20,000 was presented to a police personnel for his efforts in nabbing the killers of Sulaiman.
Western Range IGP Pratap Reddy, internal security ADGP Harshavardan Raj, Udupi SP Dr Ravikumar Y S and other officers were present.
