Udupi, Nov 29: Mount Rosary English Medium School, Santhekatte, celebrated the second day of its annual event, 'Utsav 2024,' with great celebrations, showcasing a blend of cultural vibrancy for students from grade 5 to grade 10 on the school premises.
Chief guest of the programme, Prof P Archibald Furtado, member of the governing body, CESU, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am truly honored and delighted to be here. It's inspiring to see such a large audience and their support for young minds. To the students of classes 5 to 10, this is your day. After reviewing the annual report, it is evident that the school is conducting excellent activities. We eagerly await the opportunity to witness your talents, just as the young minds showcased theirs yesterday. I urge each one of you to work hard, stay curious, be creative, and show compassion. The achievements of the students today are a testament to the belief and support of their parents. To all the staff who worked tirelessly to make this event a success, your efforts are truly commendable. This institute is shaping future gems for society, and I encourage more students to join this wonderful school."
Headmistress Sr Ancilla Roshani D'Mello presented the annual school report, and the guest Prof P Archibald Furtado gets felicitated. Prizes were distributed to the SSLC toppers and distinction holders of 2023-2024, as well as to students who excelled in co-curricular activities.
The programme featured delightful performances by students from grades 5 to 10, bringing immense joy to the audience. The performances included patriotic songs, skits, a tableau of nature, fusion songs, and a karate display.
The annual day for the students was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy over two days. Students showcased their talents through a variety of performances, including dances, skits, songs, an abacus demonstration, hand movement shows, dramas, tableaus, and karate displays.
The event was graced by Fr Dr Roque D’Souza, correspondent; Prof P Archibald Furtado, member of governing body, CESU, who was the chief guest. The guests of honour included Fr Oliver Nazareth CSC, assistant parish priest; Sr M Jane Joseph SRA, superior, Goretti Convent; ; Luke D’Souza, member, school management committee; Baptist Dias, member, school management committee; and Nagraj L V, president, PTA; Sr Ancilla Roshani D'Mello, headmistress of Mount Rosary English Medium School; Akshatha , school pupil leader; parents, students, and other attendees were also present.
Fr Dr Roque D'Souza welcomed the gathering, teacher Sabitha introduced the guests, and teacher Vanita delivered the vote of thanks. Students Kripa and Neil served as the programme's comperes.
