Kasargod, Dec 15: All arrangements were made in the vicinity of the district commissioner’s office for the general interactive programme to be held by chief minister CM Oomen Chandy on Friday December 16.
Chandy will inaugurate the people’s interactive programme at 9.30 am on Friday.
He will distribute title deeds to 300 people who had filed their grievances with the revenue department, besides distributing compensation of Rs 1 lac to the kith and kin of Endosulfan victims on the same occasion.
Arrangements have been made to accept general grievances at 15 counters set up by various departments from 8.00 am on Friday. Seating arrangements are being made for 7,000 people at the venue. Drinking water and toilet facilities are being provided at the venue and a clinic has been set up with specialist doctors in allopathy, homeopathy and ayurveda. At least 250 policemen, NCC cadets, and government employees will provide security.
Three types of entry passes will be provided – for physically handicapped and patients, for those who have submitted applications seeking financial assistance, and for those who have submitted applications for other needs.
The applicants are eligible to enter the venue through B C Road and arrive at the second gate set up at the deputy commissioner’s office complex. The main entrance is reserved for entry of officers. The general public is allowed to return through the fourth gate after attending the interactive meet.
The main counter is set up at the district treasury office, wherein the information will be available to the general public on the status of their individual grievances. Twenty computers are installed at the main counter. Fresh grievances will be accepted at the second counter. The arrangements will be made to meet CM Chandy, depending on the gravity of grievances, stated the district administration.
