Udupi, Nov 23: A grand celebration was organized in front of the Brahmagiri Congress Bhavan under the leadership of Udupi block Congress Committee president Ramesh Kanchan, marking the Congress party’s victories in the recent by-elections. The party celebrated the success of its candidates C P Yogeshwar from Shiggaon, Annapoorna Tukaram from Channapattana, and Yasir Pathan from Sandur in Karnataka, as well as Priyanka Gandhi’s win in the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election. Additionally, the Congress-led alliance’s lead in the Jharkhand Assembly elections was also acknowledged.
Congress leaders and workers gathered in large numbers to participate in the festivities, distributing sweets and bursting firecrackers to express their joy.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh Kanchan stated that the BJP and JD(S) alliance’s attempts to destabilize the Congress-led state government by criticizing its pro-people guarantee schemes had been decisively rejected by the people. Kanchan emphasized that the public’s appreciation of Congress’s guarantee schemes contributed to the victory and declared that the BJP’s dream of a 'Congress-free India' had been shattered. He also congratulated Priyanka Gandhi on her victory in Wayanad, adding that her election as an MP had energized Congress workers across the country.
