Udupi: Pramod Madhwaraj Lauds Women’s Empowerment

Udupi, Dec 14: “Women, who were considered hapless two decades ago, have emerged as the most powerful people in society now.  A financially empowered woman manages her family efficiently,” said entrepreneur Pramod Madwaraj.

He was speaking after inaugurating the civil awareness programme held at Narayana Guru auditorium, Brahmavar, on Monday December 12.
Former state minister K Jayaprakash Hegde said that women play a key role in forming a better society as it is she who first inculcates good manners in her children.

He added that alcohol addicts needs to be reformed to be brought back into the mainstream of society.
A V Baliga Memorial Hospital psychiatrist Dr Virupaksha was the resource person at the programme.

Brahmavar Jan Jagruti Samiti president Janardhan Tonse presided over the programame.

Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) district director Keshav Gowda, taluk project officer Dayasheela, taluk Jan Jagruti Vedike president Navin Amin, ZP member Mallika B Poojary, TP member Veronica Cornelio, Varamballi gram panchayat president S Narayan, Handady gram panchayat president Jayanti, Chantaru gram panchayat president Jayanti Vasudev, Barkoor gram panchayat president Vasanti, Kunjalu gram panchayat vice-president Rajeev Kulal, Vishwanat Shetty Matapady, and Hoovayya Servegar were present on the occasion.

The programme was organized in association with taluk SKDRDP, Jan Jagruti Vedike – Brahmavar, Pragatibandu self-help-groups, Jnana Vikas women centres and Brahmavar gram panchayat, social welfare and voluntary organizations.

K Satyanarayan Udupa welcomed the gathering.  Venkataramana Bhandarkar delivered the introductory address.  Rajyotsav Award recipient head master Ashok Kumar Shetty compered the programme.
