Yajna Mangalore Bags KPN T S Satyan Memorial Award for Photojournalism

Mangalore, Dec 13: Yajneshwara Acharya (Yajna Mangalore) has been chosen for the T S Satyan Memorial Award for Photojournalism, to be presented by Bangalore-based Karnataka Photo News Agency (KPN).
A professional photographer, Yajna had earlier worked as a photojournalist for Udayavani and The Hindu newspapers.
The Award will be presented on Sunday December 18 at Raj Bhavan, Bangalore at 11.15 am by the governor of Karnataka.
T S Satyan Memorial Award for Photojournalism includes cash prize of Rs 10,000, a certificate and citation.
Ace photographer Yajna Mangalore is known all over the country, for his classic black and white pictures that have been published along with various reports, in both national and local media for over five decades. He has captured rare, memorable moments of many stalwarts, politicians, ministers and prime ministers during various national level programmes. He has organized over a hundred photo exhibitions in the undivided Dakshina Kannada, Shimoga and Kasargod districts. He also has in his collection, over 300 black and white photos of legendary Kannada poet and litterateur Dr Shivaram Karant.
