Mangalore: Fradh Saib Day Celebrated at Holy Cross Church, Cordel

Mangalore, Dec 12: The feast of the founder Fr Alexander Dubois, Holy Cross church, Kulshekar was celebrated on Sunday December 11.

The programme commenced with the Holy Eucharistic mass at 5.00 PM. Fr Mathew Vas, parish priest of Anjelore church was the main celebrant of the mass. He was accompanied by parish priest  Valerian Pinto, assistant parish priests Fr John Baptist Moras, Fr Melwyn Noronha and several other guest priests. 

The faithful offered the mass and thanked the Almighty for his abundant grace through Fradh Saib. The enlightening homily was preached by the director of Kodailbail press Fr George D’Souza. He  said that holy Eucharist is the only means of salvation, in addition he said unless an individual converts himself into a new person forbidding his sins then only he will be titled as so called ‘true Christian’. The parish priest Fr Valerian Pinto honored the sponsors of the celebration with the candles; moreover he thanked all who had contributed to the success of the celebration of the feast.

The liturgical ceremony signified with procession of the most gracious holy sacrament, numerous parishners and non-parishners joined the solemn event. The liturgy was conducted by the parish council members and other members of the parish. The charming voices of the choir added to the spirit of the celebration. The musical band reflected the festive moment. The organization of the whole event was managed by the parish council members as well as other well wishers under the guidance of the parish priest.
