Udupi, Nov 14: "The 125th year anniversary celebration of Udupi Courts and Bar Association will be held on November 17 and 18, with grandeur at the court premises of Udupi,” said Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, chairman of Udupi courts and bar quasqui centennial celebration committee.
Speaking at the press conference Mattar Rathnakar Hegde said, “The inauguration of the celebrations will be held on Sunday November 17, at 10 am. High court chief justice NV Anjaria, will preside over the programme. The programme will be attended by former chief justice of the Supreme Court and present governor of Andhra Pradesh chief justice Abdul Nazeer Saheb. High court judge and administrative judge for Udupi district Justice E S Indiresh will release the souvenir. Minister for law, parliamentary affairs and tourism of Karnataka H K Patil and minister for public works department Sathish Jarakiholi will be the special guests. The event will also be attended by. Advocate general government of Karnataka Shashikiran S Shetty, registrar general of high court of Karnataka K S Bharath Kumar and principal district and sessions judge of Udupi district Kiran S Gangannavar will be the special invitees for the program. Judges of high court Justice M G Uma and Justice Ramachandra D Huddar, Justice T Venkatesh Naik will be felicitated on the occasion.
“The valedictory function will be held on Monday Nov 18, 2024 at 4:30 pm. High court judge and administrative judge for Udupi district Justice E S Indiresh will deliver the valedictory address. High court of Karnataka judge Justice S Vishwajith Shetty will preside over the programme. Judges of high court of Karnataka Justice Shivashankar B Amarannavar and Justice CM Joshi and Justice T G Shivashankare Gowda will be chief guests and principal district and sessions judge of Udupi district Kiran S Gangannavar will be the special invitee for the program. In this function, ex-members of Udupi Bar Association and former presidents and general secretaries of Udupi Bar Association, who are members of Udupi Bar Association and serving as judges and government prosecutors, will be honoured. On the same occasion, the special health card given to the members of the Udupi Bar Association by Kasturba Hospital was presented by MAHE pro-chancellor Dr HS Ballal in the presence of Karnataka High Court chief justice SV Anjaria will be released,” he added.
Four impactful sessions on various subjects will be organized on a two days schedule. Advocate of high court of Karnataka Madhukar Deshpande, will deliver a lecture on 'Evidence Act and Application of Electronic Evidence' on November 17 at 2:30 pm. Another session on 'Drafting of pleadings and advocacy' by judge of high court of Karnataka justice Ramachandra D Huddar will be held at 3:45 pm on the same day. On Monday November 17, at 10 am judge of Karnataka high court justice C M Joshi will deliver a lecture on 'Cybercrimes and law relating to Information Technology'. At 11:15 am, advocate S Shnakarappa will have a lecture on 'Art of Cross Examination and Appreciation of Evidence'.
To celebrate the occasion On November 17, from 5 pm to 7 pm various cultural programs by bar associations of Udupi, Kundapur, Karkala and students of Vaikunta Baliga Law College will be held. From 7 pm a folklore extravaganza by 'Kalamaya' Udupi will also be held. Renowned standup comedian of Kannada language Pranesh Gangavati and team will perform on November 18, at 2:30 pm and will entertain Udupians. As another milestone event musical orchestra by renowned musicians of Karnataka – Rajgopal and team with top sought playback singers Jaskaran Singh and Ananya Prakash along with other singers will entertain the audience.
