Udupi: One Killed, Two Injured as Car Collides with Parked Tanker

Udupi, Dec 6: One person died and two others were seriously injured when the car in which they were travelling rammed into a parked water supply tanker at Brahmavar here on Tuesday December 6.
The deceased has been identified as Lancy D'Souza (65) who was in the passenger seat. However, he is said to have died not due to injuries but of cardiac arrest at the time of collision.
Two other occupants of the car, Joel Rakshit Paul and Lancy's daughter Lavita Keerthi D'Souza, were injured and shifted to Brahmavar hospital. They were on their way back to Mangalore from Goa, it is learnt.
Sources said that the accident took place at around 2-2.30 am. The tanker, which supplies water for the ongoing road-widening work, was parked on the side of the highway after a breakdown, but it was not clearly visible in the dead of the night.
Brahmavar police have registered a case in this regard.
