Mangalore: Sr Matilda Monteiro Elected Provincial Superior

Mangalore, Dec 6: Sr Matilda Monteiro (58), a member of the Congregation of Sisters of Charity, has been elected Provincial Superior of Mangalore Province. She is expected to take charge of this post during this month.
Currently, Sr Matilda is serving as the dean of the newly started BTh Theological College in Institute Mater Dei Goa under the aegis of Conference of Religious India (CRI).
She did her Licentiate in Moral Theology at the Gregorian University, Rome, and holds doctorate in spirituality from the University Of Milan, Italy. She has vast experience in formation and administration. She had made the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity proud by securing doctorate in theology for her thesis titled ‘To shed even one’s blood for the good of the neighbor in imitation of Jesus the Redeemer’, in 2007.
Sr Matilda Monteiro hails from Modankap parish, Bantwal, in Mangalore Diocese. She is the daughter of Alice Monteiro and the late J M Monteiro. She is kind, affable and spirit-filled and will be bringing with her the qualities of responsibility, total commitment and dedication, for which she is known for, while taking charge as the Provincial Superior.
