Udupi: Man loses Rs 86.8 lac in online share market scam

Udupi, Oct 25: Bhaskara, a resident of Uppunda, lost Rs 86.8 lac in stages after falling for an online message promising high profits in the share market.

Bhaskara searched for information about the share market on YouTube and other online platforms. Strangers then added his mobile number to a WhatsApp group called ‘N3-follow me for wealth enhancement’ and sent him links to join various other groups. Someone from a group named ‘Alliance Core Trading’ contacted Bhaskara, providing details on how to make higher profits in the share market.

Trusting the caller, Bhaskara invested Rs 86.8 lac into various bank accounts as directed between October 1 and 22. However, the accused failed to deliver any profits or return the invested money. CEN police are investigating further.
