London, Dec 4 (IANS): Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez of Mexico will be sidelined for at least four weeks after tearing ankle ligaments during his side's 1-0 win over Aston Villa Saturday.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that his forward won't be available before the new year.
"It is a torn ligament in the ankle, he could be out for four weeks," said Ferguson. "We are having a bad time with injuries at the moment but it is just as well we have a strong squad."
Hernandez was stretchered off in the 12th minute after twisting awkwardly while running off the ball in the Premier League match.
