Beltangady: Consumption of Stale Food Causes Death

Beltangady, Dec 2: A pilgrim from Balehonnur, who consumed stale food from the tiffin box she had brought with her, developed complication and died in government hospital in Mangalore on Thursday December 1.

Lata (37) from Balehonnur in Chikmagalur district, and her daughter, Meghana (13), had come to Dharmasthala on November 28. Both of them had consumed food they had brought in their tiffin box, and had fallen ill. They were provided preliminary treatment in Beltangady government hospital before referring to Wenlock Hospital inMangalore.

Lata did not respond to treatments, and breathed her last on Thursday. A case was registered in this connection in the local police station.
