Mangaluru: Man arrested for attempting to sell ganja

Mangaluru, Oct 18: Suratkal police arrested a youth for attempting to sell ganja on Hosabettu beach road on Thursday.

The arrested is identified as Soni (27), a native of Bihar.

Soni, carrying a bag on his shoulder, attempted to flee upon seeing a police jeep.

After being apprehended, he confessed in Hindi that his bag contained ganja.

The police seized 1.5 kg of ganja, valued at Rs 30,000, along with a mobile phone worth Rs 15,000.

    1.5 Kg is a big quantity to be caught with for an individual... Lucky for him that he is in India... There are nations where he would be dead after a short trial... This drugs menace is a life risk for people as intoxicated(stoned) people will drive without attention and even behave erratically... Stricter laws are call of the hour including capital punishment in extreme cases...
