The injured have been identified as Manju, Vasu, Mahesh, Nagaraj, Raghavendra and Satish, all from Mysore. They were admitted in a private hospital at Brahmavar, here.
Twenty pilgrims from Mysore were returning from a pilgrimage to Sabarimala, and were on their way to Gokarna after visiting Dharmasthala and Sri Krishna Mutt, here.
The ghastly accident occurred when the mini bus collided with a chemical laden tanker, plying from Kundapur to Udupi. As a result the battery exploded and fire engulfed both the vehicles. Fire brigade personnel from Udupi and Kundapur arrived on the spot and managed to extinguish the fire.
