Jesus Youth lights up Karnataka with the inauguration of 'Campus Habba'

Mangaluru, Oct 12: The Karnataka campus ministry of Jesus Youth joyfully announced the successful launch of Campus Habba, a three-day spiritual gathering that began with a vibrant inaugural ceremony on October 11, 2024, at Loyola Hall, St Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. The event attracted nearly 700 participants and volunteers from various parts of Karnataka, united under the themes of faith, hope, and love.

Presided over by Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, the bishop of Mangalore, the ceremony featured a distinguished panel of dignitaries, including Fr Melwyn Pinto, rector of St Aloysius; Justin P. J., coordinator for JY India; Victor Anup Joe, coordinator for JY Karnataka; Godwin George, general coordinator; and John Cristopher, JY KCT coordinator. Minola Saldanha, the program coordinator, delivered an inspiring keynote address that outlined the vision and set expectations for the days ahead.

Bishop Saldanha gave a heartfelt address, rich with wisdom and encouragement, setting a spiritually uplifting tone for the event. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all who contributed to making this event possible. The gathering marks the beginning of a memorable and transformative three-day experience.

Later that evening, participants enjoyed the Vox Christi Concert, a performance by the internationally acclaimed Gospel Band Vox Christi, which left a profound impact on the audience.

Over the course of the event, participants will engage in a variety of activities, including gospel concerts, spiritual sessions, and group exercises aimed at deepening their connection to faith and community. Resource persons for the three days include Livin Varghese, Immanuel Joseph, Naveen Lobo, Fr Prakash Thankappan SAC, Esmin Thayana Phils, and Roshan James.

This gathering promises to foster personal growth, spiritual awakening, and a strengthened sense of community among all who attend.
