Udupi: Nine Bangladeshis with fake Aadhar cards arrested in Malpe

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Oct 12: Nine Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended near the Vadabhandeshwara bus stand in Malpe.

They had entered India seeking jobs as laborers in the fishing industry. One of them, Mohammed Manik, attempted to travel to Dubai from Mangaluru International Airport. During an immigration check, it was discovered that his real identity was Manik Chowk Rajashahi, a Bangladeshi national.

Upon interrogation, authorities uncovered the presence of several others in Malpe. The arrested individuals have been identified as Hakeem Ali, Sujon, Ismail, Kareem, Salam, Rajikul, Mohammed Sojib, Kajol, and Usman. They had used forged documents to enter India, and fake Aadhar cards were found in their possession.

Kajol, a native of Agartala, Sikkim, had procured the fake Aadhar cards for all the accused. Usman was responsible for bringing the others into the country and arranging jobs for them. Malpe police are conducting further investigations.

SP Dr Arun Kumar stated, "We received information that seven Bangladeshi nationals were living illegally in Malpe. They have been taken into custody for interrogation. Mohammed Manik, one of them, had attempted to travel to Dubai from Mangaluru International Airport using a fake passport. Immigration officers detained him and alerted us. The other seven individuals living with Manik were traced. They have been in Malpe for the past three years, and during interrogation, we found fake documents in their possession.

“We are investigating how they obtained the fake Aadhar cards and crossed the border. A case under crime number 138/24, 318, 319, 336 has been registered against the accused at Malpe police station. The accused are in police custody, and a report will be submitted to the court soon.”
