Mangalore: Man Jumps off Sixth Floor of Hospital, Dies

Mangalore, Nov 29: In a tragic incident, a man died after jumping off from the sixth floor of city's Father Muller Hospital here on Tuesday November 29.

The deceased has been identified as Bhaskar Kumar (32) from Kasargod. It is said that he was mentally unsound.

Bhaskar's father had been admitted to Father Muller Hospital after he suffered a fall four days back. Bhaskar and his mother were in the hospital to look after him.

Sources said that at lunchtime on Tuesday, he came out of the second floor, climbed to the sixth floor and jumped off.

Bhaskar had done his diploma in engineering, but was suffering from a mental illness and undergoing treatment.

Pandeshwar police have registered a case in this regard.

    Terrible! and really sad. There are number of reasons for such drastic steps. But, Suicide? it takes lot of daring. BTW, what is Diploma in BE?

    This is the second incident! First one in 2007 when i was studying in mullers. One mentally ill patient jumped off from the 4th floor .I had witnessed that horrific scene. Shocking news again!
