Mangaluru, Oct 5: Former MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has called for the resignation of chief minister (CM) Siddaramaiah over the MUDA scam.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, October 5, Nalin Kumar Kateel said, "In the past one and a half years of the Congress government, development projects have slowed down significantly due to the lack of funds. The Congress government has completely neglected developmental work. During the BJP government, the highest amount of funds was allocated to the district for development purposes. Under the Congress government, development has become a distant dream."
He further alleged that the current government is functioning with an 80% commission policy and has been involved in back-to-back scandals, such as the MUDA and Valmiki board scams. "We demand CM Siddaramaiah’s resignation. The government has also failed to maintain law and order," Kateel added.
When asked about Siddaramaiah denying the need for his resignation, Kateel responded, "During the BJP’s tenure, Congress accused us of various scams but failed to provide the necessary documentation as proof. Now, with an FIR filed and a probe ordered into Siddaramaiah’s case, the CM should have stepped down to face the investigation, which would have earned him more respect."
District BJP president Satish Kumpala, BJP leader Premananda Shetty, Rakesh Rai, MLC candidate Kishore Kumar, and others were also present.
