Mangalore: 63rd NCC Day Celebrated in City with Patriotic Spirit

Mangalore, Nov 28: These days, when most of the attention is gained by the glamorous and lucrative fields at every juncture, National Cadet Corps (NCC) made their presence felt in the city on Sunday November 27 by celebrating the day dedicated to them.
NCC has been a popular troupe for their discipline and service to the society. As part of their country wide 63rd celebration, the city cadets celebrated the day at St Aloysius College ground.
RK Shetty, retired warrant officer, the chief guest, speaking on the occasion said that NCC must help in bringing national integration and harmony. The troupe must also strengthen the army position and build the country. The NCC motto is unity and discipline. Hence NCC students should represent this idea, he motivated.
Fr Francis Almeida, vice principal, St Aloysius College lauded the troupe for their disciplinary life and action. He advised the NCC students to contribute to the nation building and for the welfare of the society.
Ramanand Shetty, associate NCC officer (ANO) of Canara College, Urwa shared the dais. In his speech, he appreciated the University for highlighting NCC of Mangalore zone to the country through the programme.
Lieutenant Shakin, ANO of St Aloysius College was the co-ordinator of the programme. The event included stage programme, March fast, weapon display and briefing. As many as 250 students of eight different colleges took part in the event.
