Mangaluru, Oct 1: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday, Oct 1, finalized Kishor Kumar Puttur as its candidate for the Legislative Council bye-election from the Dakshina Kannada Local Authorities constituency. This election was necessitated following the election of Kota Srinivas Poojary to the Rajya Sabha.
Kishor Kumar Puttur, the general secretary of the Dakshina Kannada district BJP, has been announced as the BJP's candidate by the party's central election committee.
Belonging to the Savitha Samaj, Kishor Kumar has previously served as the district president of the BJP Yuva Morcha and as the general secretary of the Dakshina Kannada district BJP.
Several other prominent figures had expressed interest in the ticket, including former MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, former minister Pramod Madhwaraj, and Dakshina Kannada BJP’s Satish Kumpala. However, the BJP has now officially nominated Kishor Kumar Puttur.
