Moodbidri: Man Held for Trying to Sell Deer Pelt

Moodbidri, Nov 27: Officials of the forest unit of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Bangalore, arrested a person on Friday November 25, and recovered from him a deer pelt. CID inspector, Rajesh Kotian, led the team.

Godwin (21), son of David Shubhakar from Tenkanidiyur village, Udupi, was arrested. The deer pelt, approximately valued at Rs 75,000, and a mobile phone, were seized from him.

Reportedly, Godwin was trying to sell the pelt he had bought from a person in Udupi. He was handed over to the local police station for further investigation.

Inspector of the local police station, A K Timmaiah, and sub-inspector, Ramesh Kumar, have taken up investigation.

    Since there is a buyer, there is a seller. Make both buyer and seller as suspects and charge them with the offence.... If there is no buyers, then there cant be sellers.. Problem shall be solved and our wild animals are protected...Mere charging the seller shall not solve the problem...
