Mangaluru: Dr Ramesh Kamath begins work on his fourth Konkani Film 'Antyarambha'

Mangaluru, Sep 29: GSB Pride and Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Dr Ramesh Kamath, has commenced work on his latest Konkani film titled 'Antyarambha' under the banner of Aadithya Cine Creation. The film, produced by Smt Kiranmayi R Kamath, began shooting on September 12 with the blessings of Dr Dayananda Pai and has already completed filming. Editing work is now underway.

Antyarambha is a philosophical story about an elderly man who narrates his life journey in an engaging manner, ultimately revealing the profound philosophy that "every end in life marks a new beginning." This marks Dr Kamath's fourth Konkani film, highlighting his deep love and commitment to the Konkani language. So far, only eight Saraswath Konkani films have been produced, three of which were also directed by Dr Kamath.

The lead cast includes Dr Ramesh Kamath as the elderly man, Damodhar Nayak as the hero, and Prathiksha Kamath as the heroine. Other prominent actors include Vitobha Bhandarkar, Stany Alveres, Uday Jadugar, Sheela Nayak, Vasudha Prabhu, Anans Nayak Sagri, Narasimha Nayak, Master Aadithya, Master Yatharth, Sandeep Melani, Prakash Kini, Umesh Shenoy, Krishna Nayak, Anand Nagarkar, Vinutha Kiran, and Govindraya Shanbhag.

The film’s technical crew includes PVR Swamy as the cameraman, Nagesh as the editor, and music by Srisuresh. The film’s songs are sung by Shankar Shabhougue, with dialogues penned by Sha Mam Krishna Rao. Dr Ramesh Kamath has written the story, screenplay, song lyrics, and is also directing the film.

The film is slated for release in the first week of November 2024.
