Beltangady: Dr D Veerendra Heggade Celebrates Birthday

Beltangady, Nov 25: Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade, is celebrating his 64th birthday today. Heggade, 21st Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala, was born on November 25, 1948, as the son of Ratnamma Heggade and Ratnavarma Heggade at Bhandasale, Bantwal.

During Heggade’s tenure, Dharmasthala’s area of service has expanded manifold. He has been instrumental in setting up Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institute (RUDSET) at Ujire, installation of the mammoth statue of Lord Bahubali in Dharmasthala, Siri Gramodyoga which enables rural artisans to market their products, Dharmothana Trust, Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, etc, all of which have been working to improve the living standards of the people.

Heggade’s birthday this time coincides with the ast day of the ongoing Laksha Deepotsava in Dharmasthala.Therefore, Samavasarana Puja is being organized there.
