Bangalore, Nov 24: Sumayya (14), daughter of Shaffi and Salma couple, and a resident of Valmikinagar within the limits of Chamarajpet police station in the city, committed suicide by hanging herself on Wednesday November 23 at her home. She was a seventh standard student of government school. Her father works for a poultry shop.
Sumayya was one of the five children of the couple. She used to while away time at home, and remain absent from the school frequently. Worried at her habit of wasting lot of time on mobile phone, Salma had advised her daughter against overuse of mobile phone. Not heeding to this advice, Sumayya was found to have been talking over mobile by hiding in the bath room on Tuesday. When Salma tried to snatch away the mobile set from Sumayya, there was a quarrel between them.
Sumayya, who regained her composure a little later, came to her mother and advised her to look after her siblings well. Her mother thought that her advice had worked, and Sumayya was readying to go to school. Salma went to the vegetable market and on her return, found Salma hanging from a noose at home.
