Mangaluru, Sep 24: Patrick B D'Sa, aged 83, passed away peacefully on September 24. Known for his unwavering dedication to social activism and helping those in need, Patrick's life was a testament to compassion and service.

In keeping with his selfless spirit, Patrick made the remarkable decision to donate his body to medical research and education, hoping to contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge and the well-being of future generations. His family honoured this wish, ensuring that his legacy continues to serve humanity even after his passing.

In accordance with Patrick's wishes, there will be no religious rituals, flowers, or bouquets. Those who would have sent such tokens of remembrance are kindly encouraged to make a donation to a social cause dear to them, furthering Patrick’s commitment to service and generosity.

Patrick was the son of the late John F M D'Sa and the late Pauline Rego. He is survived by his wife, Winifred D'Sa, and children: Prem (Veena), Preethika, Priya (Pradeep), and Praveen (Veera). He was the beloved grandfather of Ishan, Varenya, Nikhil, Moksha, Neil, Alicia, and Abigail. He was the brother of Percy D'Sa, and the late Nobert D'Sa and Leslie D'Sa.

    Thank you all who sent your condolences to our family. Thank you all for remembering my dad. Thank you all who acknowledged my dads contribution to the society. I along with my family appreciate and are ever grateful to all who came to his funeral, who watched live on daijiworld, who called and sent their sympathies. We are truly grateful.

    Patrick was indeed champion of human rights and helper of the marginalised. He would take up causes for those who could not help themselves. He leaves a void in the area of human rights advocacy. May his soul rest in peace.
