M'lore: Prioress Marie Celine of Cloistered Carmel Celebrates Golden Jubilee

Mangalore, Nov 24: The golden jubilee of the religious profession of Prioress Mother Marie Celine of the Holy Face (Cynthia Pinto), was held at Sacred Heart Monastery Cloistered Carmel, Kankanady, on Tuesday November 22.
 
Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza presided over the Eucharistic celebration along with Carmelite Provincial Fr Archibald Gonsalves, Carmelite Fr George Santhumayor, Fr Muller Charitable Institutions director Fr Patrick Rodrigues, Fr William Gonsalves, Fr Santosh Kamath, Valencia parish priest Fr Bonaventure Nazareth and many clergies at Sacred Heart Monastery Chapel, on Tuesday morning. 


 

Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, in his homily, emphasized the need to be faithful to the vows and to the Lord. 
 
Carmelite Fr Elias D’Souza compered the programme and Fr Alwyn Sequeira proposed the vote of thanks.
 
Mother Marie Celine was born on January 12, 1937, in Bendore parish.  Mother Celine joined the Cloistered Carmeline on February 2, 1960, and her golden jubilee of the religious profession was celebrated on Tuesday November 22.  Her sister Sr Lena is serving with the Carmelite missionaries.
