Moodbidri: Alangar Holy Rosary Church Celebrates 82nd Anniversary

Moodbidri, Nov 20: A meaningful parish day was celebrated to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the Alangar Holy Rosary Church here on Sunday November 20.

The superior of the Carmelite monastery of Bikarnakatte Fr James Pius D'Souza OCD presided over the celebrations at solemn high mass and was the chief guest at the felicitation and entertainment program thereafter.

Fr Pius preached that it is required to revive our faith, availability for service and active participation in parish programmes in order to build up the parish as a family.

He appreciated the active participation of the parish clergy and the people under the leadership of Fr Basil Vas.

Many competitions on individual level as well as among the wards were organized since many days. Elders of the parish were honored especially those above 80 years were felicitated by the president.

Talented persons of the parish and those with exceptional contributions to the society were also felicitated.

There were skits and dances by the people of different wards.

Fr Denis Prakash Lobo ofm cap, Fr Jeevan Tauro, Fr Eugine Cssr, Fr Henry Cssr, Fr Prem Prakash Cssr, Fr Vernon Vaz, Fr Edwin Pinto and Fr Basil among others were present.

The Reverend sisters from Holy Rosary Convent, Christ King Convent, Good Shepherd Convent and Nirmala Convent also participated.
