Mangalore, Nov 21: After an auto rickshaw carrying people attending a marriage function fell into a roadside gorge, an infant lost his life, while two boys suffered serious injuries. The accident occurred at Mittakody in Kurnad village in Bantwal taluk.
Reportedly, the driver was trying to avoid pot holes, when one of the wheels of his auto rickshaw went crossed the edge of the road, resulting in the 20-feet steep fall. The deceased has been identified as seven-month-old Shaqir, while the injured are Shamir (5), and Asmeer (7). Both of them were admitted into a hospital in Deralakatte. The other occupants of the auto rickshaw including its driver, escaped with minor injuries.
