Panaji: Talak Signs MoU with Prudent Media

Panaji, Nov 20: Goa’s national award winning director Rajendra Talak has signed a memorandum of understanding with local news channel Prudent Media for the television premier of his films.

The MOU was signed on Sunday November 20 between Prudent Media General Manager Sonia Kuncalienkar and Producer of the films Bhalchandra Bakhle.

This is for the first time that any channel has entered into such agreement for television premier of Konkani movies. Prudent Media would be telecasting O Maria, Aleesha, Antarnad and Savaariya.com, movies packaged together from December 11this till April 11 in 2012.

“The basic concept behind entering into a deal with Prudent Media was to ensure that Konkani films reach every household,” Talak said.

Editor-in-Chief of Prudent Media Sandesh Prabhudesai said that channel has viewers in 3.5 lac house holds of the state and is
Becoming popular. He said that the basic idea to have a festival of Talak’s films on the television was to ensure that viewers watch Konkani cinema.

Prabhudesai further said that the channel is proud that it is getting associated with the national award winning films.

Talak’s O Maria movie, speaking about the losing of Goa’s identity, had celebrated silver jubilee at two multiplexes in the state.

The director has also won national award for his film `Aleesha’, which revolves around anti-mining pollution.
