Udupi, Sep 11: In a landmark event for Coastalwood, the video song release of the film Middle Class Family was held at Kalpana Theater in Udupi on September 10, marking the first time a Coastalwood video song release took place in a single-screen theatre.
The celebration commenced with the Tulunadu flag being proudly hoisted.
The video song was performed by renowned artists Prakash Mahadevan and Rakshan Madoor, with lyrics penned by Rakshan Madoor and music composed by Surjan Kumar Thonse.
Yashpal Suvarna, MLA of Udupi, inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp and praised the Tulu film industry, stating, “Tulu people have won hearts globally through various fields. Tulu movies have played a significant role in promoting our culture worldwide. More the Tulu movies reach the screen, the stronger our unity becomes.”
Gurme Suresh Shetty, MLA of Kaup, highlighted the importance of Tulu films and dramas in propagating Tulu culture, wishing the film success and strength in its creation.
Prasad Raj Kanchan, Congress leader, said, “I have grown up watching Tulu films. It has been nearly 50 years since the first Tulu film came to the market. Since then, the Tulu film industry has attracted various audiences. Our Tulu film songs are no less than any international songs. Udupi people are number one in every field, and we must also become number one in producing films.”
Jayakar Shetty Indrali, president of the Cooperative Union, said, “The Middle Class Family movie video song is being released in Kalpana Theater, where middle-class families watch movies. All Tulu people must watch this film and encourage it to make it a success.”
Vijay Kumar Kodiyalbail, film director, said, “Today we saw a high-class video song for Middle Class Family. All families, regardless of class, should watch this film and help make it a great success. Kalpana Theater is like a temple to all Tulu films. Let this film be a big hit.”
Bojaraj Vamjoor, comedian and drama artist, said, “I played a special role in this film. I wish this middle-class family becomes a high-class family. The audience is the bread and butter for artists. Please watch Tulu films in theaters and support them.”
Rahul Amin, the director, shared with the media, “I’m thrilled that today’s song release had a full house. It’s fitting that our film’s first event is held here in the land of Lord Krishna. After the success of Raj Sounds and Lights, we are collaborating with the same team for this new film. We’ve prepared the dish; now it’s up to the audience to savor it. The film is set to release on October 31, so we encourage everyone to watch it in theaters.”
Ravi Katapady, social worker, Sushma, artist, and Sachin Shetty, vlogger, were felicitated on the occasion. The evening's festivities kicked off with a lively dance performance.
The film by the Raj Sounds and Lights team is produced by Anand N Kumpala, directed by Rahul Amin, and features Vineeth Kumar as the hero and Samatha Amin as the heroine.
