Mangalorean Catholic Association of New England celebrates Monthi fest

Chelmsford, Sep 9: The Mangalorean Catholic Association of New England gathered on Saturday, September 7, at St Mary’s Church in Chelmsford to joyfully celebrate Monthi Fest, the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Over 120 attendees participated in a reverent procession, offering flowers to honour the Blessed Mother, followed by a solemn mass celebrated by Fr Paul Pinto and Fr Norbert D’Souza.

After the Mass, the congregation delighted in a feast of traditional Mangalorean vegetarian cuisine, prepared by community members, and enjoyed a vibrant cultural program featuring lively dances and engaging games for all ages. A special moment during the evening was the surprise felicitation of Fr Paul Pinto, marking the 25th anniversary of his priestly ordination.

Varieties of soft drinks and water for kids and adults was sponsored by Arun Noronha, Liza Barboza, Benson Moras and Rony Prasanna.

The joyful gathering concluded with attendees singing beloved Konkani songs and dancing to the iconic beats of Mangalorean music. It was an unforgettable evening, filled with fellowship, laughter, and cherished memories for all who attended.
