Mangalore: Dacoits Murder Home-alone Woman for Gold

Mangalore, Nov 19: A woman who stayed alone at home was found murdered by dacoits who fled the scene with some gold jewellery on Saturday November 19 morning.
Lalitha Poojary (80), resident of Kolache Kambla is the victim. She was tied up by the dacoits inside her residence and was killed. The dacoits then looted her gold.
The thieves made way their into the house by breaking open the window. They first tied the lady's hands and legs and later covered her mouth with a cloth and due to which the lady suffocated to death.
The dacoits however could only take away her gold earrings. Rest of her gold including 4 bangles and chain, approximately 15 sovereigns of gold was tied in a cloth which they could not find.
Lalitha had 5 children including 3 boys and 2 girls who were residing in their own homes.
DCP Mutturaya, Dharmaiah, ACP Subhash Chandra, Mulki station officer Bhasheer Ahmedh, fingerprint experts arrived at the spot and conducted preliminary investigations.
It is suspected that the incident may have occurred on Friday November 18 night.
A case has been registered in Mulki police station.
