Mangalore, Nov 19: Spandana Trust of Infant Mary’s Convent, Jeppu organized a skit competition for women self-help groups here on Friday November 18.
Superior of Infant Mary convent Sr Mary Emma Joseph in her address appreciated the efforts taken by the staff of the Trust and insisted that it should continue the efforts to bring out the hidden talents of women and the work of the empowerment of women.
Administrator Sr Evangeline in her address encouraged women and asked to continue to take part in such programmes.
About 350 people from 18 clusters participated in the competition and exhibited their talents and creativity irrespective of caste and creed, Hindus and Muslims joined together as one family. Sr Tulia, Sr Josphin from Infant Mary’s Convent, Jeppu and Ms Nishal D’souza from Shakthinagar were the judges.
Spandana Trust is working for the empowerment of poor and marginalized women in and around Mangalore irrespective of caste and creed.
Coordinator of the Trust Victor Vas welcomed the gathering and Margarite proposed vote of thanks.
The animators and the other staff members cooperated for the success of the programme.
