Fifth Day’s Novena at Our Lady of Health Minor Basilica, Harihara

Davanagere, Sep 3: Fifth day’s Novena at Our Lady of Health, Minor Basilica, Diocese of Shimoga, began with rosary, procession and floral homages to Harihara Matha. Then, Basilica's assistant parish priest Fr Richard Mascarenhas SJ led the Novena.

Fr Robert D'Mello, parish priest of St Sebastian's Church, Soraba, Sagar, offered Holy Eucharist. He preached his homily on the theme ‘Mother Mary is an inspiration for priests’.

In his homily, he explained "Who is a priest? What is his mission in the Church? What the strengths and weaknesses they have? How we have to work together in faith to build the body of Christ".

He narrated the call of Mother Theresa and how she responded to the call given by God. He said that we need to work together in building up of the body of Christ.

Fr Alphonse Lobo, Fr Alvine Stanislaus, Fr Mathew, Fr Richard Mascarenhas SJ and other priests concelebrated the Holy Eucharist.

After the mass Fr Alvine Stanislaus led the benediction and priests prayed over the pilgrims. Rector Fr George K A thanked Fr Robert D'Mello for making available for the day's Novena mass.
