Bantwal, Nov 17: “Readers’ interest can be drawn by the media which publishes positive aspects of various issues. A Sahitya Sammelan depicts Kannada, culture, and general life of Kannadigas,” said senior journalist Malar Jayaram Rai.
He was speaking after inaugurating the media office of the 17th district Kannada Sahitya Sammelan here on Tuesday November 15. The Sammelan will be held at Alike from Friday November 18 to Saturday November 19. He also hoped that the Sammelan that will be held at the venue neighbouring Kerala, will depict the glory of Kannada and its distinct culture.
The state journalists’ association treasurer Keshav Vittal said that the media is likely to give wide publicity to a few lapses of the Sammelan, which will pose a hindrance to the genuine objectives of organizing the Sammelan. Dakshina Kannada (DK) district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said that preparations are underway to be pro-active to the people. “It will project Karnataka’s culture and revive traditions and customs,” he said.
