Bhatkal: New Mosque Masjid-e-Mohiddeen Inaugurated

Bhatkal, Nov 16: Masjid-e-Mohiddeen, a new mosque in Manki, around 30 km from Bhatkal was inaugurated recently by Manki Jamaath-ul-Muslimeen qazi Shabbir Qasimi.

Maulana Shakeel Sukri chief qazi of Jamaath-ul-Muslimeen Manki led the prayer.

Chief guest maulana Fazlul Rahman Halal Usmani, executive member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board in his address said that mosques should be the centre of all religious activities. He also discussed the importance of Namaz (prayer), adding that it is one of the five pillars of Islam, he added.

Principal of Jamia Islamia and Khateeb of Jamia Masjid, Bhatkal maulana Abdul Bari addressed the gathering and discussed the importance of offering prayers.

Shareef Abubakar donated the land for mosque, which has been built by Abu Mohammed Mukhtasar. Kauda Ishaque donated the land for the road leading to the mosque. Javeed Saheb of Bhatkal has also contributed towards the establishment of the mosque.

S M Khaleelurrahman also addressed the gathering. He said that the mosque should be let open for non-Muslims too so that they understand Islam better. He asked the mosque administration to make separate arrangements for non-Muslims to sit in the mosque.
 
MLA J D Naik and Mukhtasar Abu Mohammed also spoke on the occasion.

Maulana Shakeel Sukri compered.

Maulana Dawood Kalosta, Maulana Shabbir Qasimi, Shaikh Shabbar, Jafar Sadiq Shahbandari, SM Pervez, Inyathullah Shahbandari, Maulana Abdul Rab and Maulana Abdul Samad Qazi among others were present.

The event was organized by Manki Jamaath-ul-Muslimeen and Manki Nawayath Mohalla.

A Quran reciting competition was held at night after the inauguration of Masjid-e-Mohiddeen, where in students of nine different madrasas from Karwar and Udupi participated.

Qari Baba Mohiddeen Saheb arrived as Hyderabad as the special chief quest, who is known for reciting Quran in different voices

Later, at around midnight Maulana Fazlul Rahman Halal Usmani discussed the importance of holy Quran and reward in the religion for reciting, listening and teaching Holy Quran.

Winners were awarded by Maulana Irshad Ali. Mohammed Ubada, son of Maulana Shakeel Sukri bagged the first prize, where as Jafar Sadiq, son of Jalaluddin Kunddunguda and Abdul Naïf bagged second and third prizes respectively.

Maulana Dawood spoke on giving respect to parents and  elders.
