Mangalore, Nov 16: The governing council of Sri Venkataramana Temple, Car Street in the city, has announced changes in the routine puja regimen of the temple. This will be in vogue from November 11 to December 8.

‘Pulakasbhisheka’ will be offered to the Lord at 8 am, followed by noon puja at 8.30 am. Immediately thereafter, the night puja will be performed. At 9 am, the door of the sanctum sanctorum will be closed for the day. The governing council, while giving this information, has sought cooperation from the devotees for the changed timing.

The council said that these changes have been effected, in order to ensure that the renovation and reconstruction work under way at the temple will progress well. On November 26, the doors of the sanctum sanctorum will be closed at 10.30 am on account of the observation of the memorial service to Sri Bhuvanendrateertha Swamiji.

The temple said that the new sanctum sanctorum, and also shrines for the family deities are coming up beautifully as planned, and that presently wooden carvings and fine art work are in progress.
