Kundapur, Nov 15: Demanding a halt of the newly extended Yashwantpur-Karwar train at Kundapur, people under the leadership of various organizations and institutions, held a protest in front of the local railway station on the night of Monday November 14. They waved black flags at the said train when it passed through this station.
They then handed over a memorandum to the railway commercial superintendent, demanding for stopping of the train at Kundapur. They warned of resorting to stronger measures of protest, if a favourable decision on their demand is not taken within 15 days.
Agriculture Produce Market Committee president, Kishore Kumar, Express Highway activist, Somashekhar Shetty Kenchanur, Lions Club president, Sachidananda Shetty, entrepreneur, Ganesh Shetty, Rotary president, Gajendra Shetty, and several other leaders participated in the protest.
